Every morning…

Every morning, I wake up to one of my favorite parts of the day. I don’t always sleep well; I often still wake up to the call to prayer that echoes from the mosque right above our apartment before the sun comes up. And if that doesn’t wake me, it certainly wakes all the roosters in the neighborhood, and they finish the job. And if, by some miracle, I miss the roosters’ welcoming of the new day, the church bells from a block away are my final alarm. But as I slide out of bed and grab a shower, I peer out of the eye-level rectangle where our bathroom window is missing a slat and watch the sun come up over the hillside of Nazareth and turn the town golden.

I’ve tried to capture it on camera for you guys; I didn’t fully succeed, but so you at least have an idea…

Right before the sun crests the hill

Right before the sun crests the hill

And one more…

And out my front window a few minutes later...

Out my front window a few minutes later…
